About
The General license adds most of the HF bands to a Technician’s privileges, including long-distance voice and data. The exam’s 35 questions come from the public pool maintained by the NCVEC Question Pool Committee.
Ham General Prep covers that pool with lessons, explanations, and drills, and adds working tools for the parts of the exam that are easier to understand by trying them: propagation, antennas and feed lines, RF exposure, and modulation. The current pool expires on June 30, 2027; the app will be updated for the pool that replaces it.

- Practice exams drawn like the real one
- One question from each of the 35 groups, 26 to pass, with a review of every miss.
- Propagation model
- A teaching model of the maximum and lowest usable frequencies by hour, season, solar flux, and K index, showing which bands open and why.
- Antenna, feed line, RF exposure, and signals tools
- Antenna lengths and coax loss, the FCC's RF exposure limits worked out step by step, and AM, SSB, and FM waveforms and spectra.
